I am from Colombia and have lived in Canada since 2003. I used to work as a journalist before I started working in humanitarian aid 5 years ago. I first worked in Indonesia after the tsunami for one year, and started working with MSF in 2009. My first mission was in Chad, where I was logistician for a vaccination campaign along the border with Sudan. After Chad, I went with my partner, Nicholas, to the Central African Republic, where we worked for 9 months in a hospital in the middle of nowhere! It was great and rewarding to work in a very big hospital but I am happy to be back home because now nobody calls me at three in the morning to tell me that the generator is not working!
