I am a Nurse Practitioner from Newfoundland, and have done two missions with MSF. In 2006 I worked in a refugee camp in Chad, near the border of Darfur. Some of my roles included supervising the national and refugee staff, organizing and attending mobile clinics for internally displaced persons, providing medical consultations to national staff and overseeing the daily operation of the medical centre. I have also acted in the national MSF office in Nigeria during the largest meningitis outbreak in MSF history. I currently live in Newfoundland and commute regularly to work in remote First Nations communities in northern Ontario.
